There is no Absolute Freedom of Expression By: Rev. Jesse Amiel A. Ramoso


During the Senate hearing ; Medio Cruz did not attend due to his excuse “Freedom of Expression” claimed by his lawyer. Freedom of Expression is the legal term used to protect him and find his ways not to be responsible of the hearing. However, this act is simple saying that Church lost it's freedom against expression by giving M. Cruz a freedom not be part of Senate hearing. This sounds claiming absolute freedom of expression as what I have unerstood. This case is not isolated case of Medio Cruz allegedly facing charges from Roman Catholic laymen’s group due to blasphemous art works at CCP but this extend to all kinds of EXPRESSIONS that basically MEDIA rights has been challenged. Therefore what media can do is to protect their so called rights, which our legislators have been deceived. The exemption of Medio Cruz to report on Senate is the picture of biased and one sided decision that mostly favoured to Rights of Expressions over Religious rights. There is no problem with freedom of expressions as long as it will compromise other freedom. Basically “Media” use the term freedom of Expressions to publish pornography and profanity. It is not good to suppress freedom and likewise abuse it. There must be a limit and context of the so called freedom.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 
  Senator Angara did not do his homework; he just called the two parties the religious group and CCP and the artist group but did not make any resolution that would satisfy this two groups which is claiming their basic rights. If I am not mistaken, Senator Angara missed the purpose of making a distinct boundary and limits of the so called freedom of expressions towards religious, cultures and society aspects.  What is the Senate Hearing for? I think it did not achieve any expected result towards our basic rights.
                                                                                                                                                           
                                                                                                                                 
 The media also were biased on their broadcast; Magnifying UP lawyer’s comment rather than broadcasting the sentiment of Religious parties who were the victim of this allegedly abuse of freedom of expression by Medio Cruz and CCP with Media. Here, we can see that Media is untouchable and no responsibility at all of any of their publication of what so ever because they are bound to the so called freedom of expressions. If this is the case then, we don’t have freedom at all because our freedom dominated by the media and whatever they want to publish they can publish it anytime and anywhere. I hope my premise is a mistake.



One of the art pieces being shown in the art exhibit is an image of Jesus Christ with a wooden penis glued on His face.Other images of Christ being displayed in the state-run art center include condoms mixed with rosaries, crucifixes and religious posters.

Tips on How to survive from Tsunami and Flash Flood

               I noticed that there is no body gives us tips on how to survive on the currents of flood, since Philippines is a  country. Last night, as I watched the News, I saw a woman swept away  from the flood in Isabela. I think of myself, in my personal evaluation she has a very slim chances of surviving on the water based on how she position herself. Therefore, I am passionate to share my personal experiences on how I survived on different hydro currents.
