The True Disciples of Jesus "Part One"

As I promised to post a research regarding Disciples or Biblical numeric, I was stumbled by the book of Bonheoffer titled “The Cost of Discipleship”. But before I’m going to explain Bonhoeffer’s view of discipleship, let me first define the word “disciple/s”. I just want to clarify that if there is a true disciples of Jesus then there must be a false disciples.
The biblical terms or understanding of disciple/s can be directly understood as FOLLOWERS. This idea was not pioneered by Jesus but it was the ancient term used to a teacher to a student relationship. In fact, Plato has his own followers and one of them was Aristotle, Aristotle's disciple was Alexander the Great

There is similar characteristic that Rabbi and disciple relationship and it is in parallel to Philosopher relationship to his student like "Plato to Aristotle down to Alexander the Great". Before the student became a follower to a certain Rabbi he must first qualify by passing certain tests or examinations. We knew that education in an ancient times are not like today. The books and materials are available online or in bookstore and public libraries everywhere, but before it was available on hardware package and no take home. No take home, because it was itched on stone on walls somewhere in Jerusalem, Israel towns and country and some were available in Athens, Egypt, Babylon, Syria and as far as India and Africa. If the materials available in scroll you must pay a million dollars or more to provide a personal copy of scriptures. Therefore, to be a student of one expert “lawyers, Priests or Pharisees” Philosophers were so very expensive. Most of the students that can avail the course are coming from Royal family “Priestly/Levites and Lawyers” only or in short from Aristocrat family only due to free access to a Royal library.
Israel provided Jewish scholarship according to ancient educational systems and cultures; these are if you can memorize the Pentateuch “first five books of the Bible” at certain age, before you are qualified for another level of education. However, to the poorest of the poor, the synagogues evolved as a public school for all ages during weekdays. The Rabbi rushed and volunteer themselves to train scholar student according to their expertise to a HIGHLY qualified students/followers/disciples. They did this because they need to pass their wisdom to the next generation. Therefore it is a highest honor to be CALLED by Rabbi. No wonder Peter leave “Burn his boat and Fishing net so to speak” because of the intensity to be called by Rabbi "Jesus", it is once in a life time opportunity, the HIGHEST HONOR. By the way, Peter was not an ordinary or small time fisherman. DRAG NET was the latest fishing technology during their time. This is the same us today's DRAG Net principles that evolve to "PURSE SIGN" carried by ships by big time Japanese and Chinese fishermen which can catch up to ten tons of fish in a single catch. If you are under Rabbi means you are scholar and groomed be part of the top ROYAL Rank, Peter looking forward on this and left his "MULTI-Million business" and burn his ships and fishing gears. That is why there was a certain mother who plead to Jesus to put his two sons in the highest rank that is next to Him, because this the HIGHEST career in Israel. continue reading Part II?
