The True Disciples of Jesus Part II

Jesus Disciples was not Limited to Twelve in Three years

        By: Jesse Amiel Amiel Ramoso

Upon my research, I discover that there were more than twelve disciples or followers of Jesus. He sent the first twelve without pocket money, but later in another incident Jesus sent the seventy disciples by pairs in Jerusalem. Lastly, in John 6:66 many of Jesus disciples left him. Upon carefully examining what is disciple and how many really they were, I ended up counting those who follow Jesus in the wilderness that Jesus feed them with a few fish loaves. So, I discover that Jesus was not only handling twelve but thousands of followers/disciples in just a few years in his ministry? I learned that Jesus first twelve disciples was been personally invited to follow him. The others are I am not sure if they were personally invited by Jesus, perhaps they volunteer themselves to follow because of personally interest and most of them are “food and medication”. This is common in some Churches, specially those people who believed that they will become rich if they will follow Jesus. However, in the end of the history of Jesus on Earth I found out that his first twelve disciples evolved into a so called APOSTLE, after Jesus reinstate them before His ascension. So therefore it must be 12 Apostles is the right term to use, not twelve disciples? What do you think? click here if you want to read Bonhoeffer's view of Discipleship: Part III of this articles:

The original twelve disciples have their own office. Judas was in charge in finance department, Peter was in the office of secretary of defense and press secretary, Andrew was in charge in research department, John was in charge in presidential body guard and personal secretary of Jesus. The others were assigned to scouting, logistics, food supply, crowd control and etc. We knew that Jesus has more than twelve disciples but we need also to know that many times Jesus mentioned “You Cannot be my disciples unless…” therefore let’s study what are the qualities to become a true disciples of Jesus as he defined in the Bible.
